This is how I'm doing it, but is there a better way? I want to schedule a new clip to play after the current one has played so many times, the clips are odd lengths and quite short and at the moment I can't make it work.

I think you could just observe loop_jump.

Why not observe the clips playing_status property instead?

I think playing_position is risky because a user can manually change that by clicking in a clip; thus triggering your patch. I'm also wondering how feasible loop_jump is considering that the start of the loop brace doesn't necessarily have to match the start of the entire clip itself.

Still having said all that there's one thing puzzling me; are you looking for a way to count the playing status of one clip or of all the clips in your live set? I'm wondering because while your example shows 1 clip you speak of wanting to trigger more clips; do I assume correctly that those should be counted too ?

Because that sounds like an interesting project... In that case I guess your best bet is to utilize a jit.matrix object to store the start counts of all clips so that you can keep track of all of them.

Yeah you're right ShelLuser neither way is ideal. In a perfect world we could observe the info directly, I mean it appears in the track view so I can't see why it can't be opened up to the API.

I only needed to keep track of a handful of clips, mass clip observation is something of a pain in my experience.
