The insert marker is basically an indicator to show the current position of the global transport. So the easiest way to know its location is to check the current position. The easiest way to do that is by using the "current_song_time" property of the Song class. You can get, set and observe this.

To know if you selected a cue point ('Locator') there are a few options.. There is a function called "is_cue_point_selected" but I think that's a bit too tedious to use.

Your best option, IMO that is, is to check the location of all the Locators at first (using the 'cue_points' child object of the Song class) then check their individual positions.

Then you can check the current insert marker position and compare that to the location(s) of the Locators.

yep, I did it with "is_cue_oint_selected" but because it's not a property , I have to check continually with a qmetro.
