Maybe my brain isn't working properly or I've been at it too long, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get a .maxpat file that I created as a patcher into the max for live midi effect device i'm creating in Ableton.

I want this file to be an abstraction where all devices that it is embedded in are updated when this .maxpat file is changed.

I also don't know how to include new locations into the file browser. I tried looking for it there, but it doesn't appear because it's in a different directory.

For anyone with the same issue, I solved it by adding my project folders to the file browser within its options> file preferences menu. Now the .maxpatch appears in this searchable list. Dragging the maxpatch into the edited live device gives you options to "create an instance of ___ as an abstraction"
