I installed max 6 demo on my win7 x64 machine and opened a tutorial patch from

 (09.particle rave) and it crashes a few times before it opened up, and it gave a bunch of errors and didnt do anything when i clicked the bang/radio's and manipulated the number boxes. Did i do something wrong?

ah, that fixed the first problem, but it still doesnt work, anyone!!
