I'm wondering if anyone has compiled a list of optimizations useful for OS/X to reduce CPU usage/RAM for other processes while Max (or a DAW, say) is running?

While there are clearly obvious things like disabling screensaver, disabling spotlight, disabling wifi, not putting hard drive to sleep, and so forth, there are still about 180 processes on my Mac (according to ps aux | wc -l)

Granted some of them are asleep but they're still taking some RAM and they presumably wake up sometimes.

It would be nice to have a script that would just stop all unnecessary activity
