i’d like to generate and display platonic solids, but with desity values (with jit.gl.volume).
my idea is to create a 32*32*32 density matrix with jit.bfg and multiply it with a 32*32*32 "polyhedric mask". so here are my questions:
a) does anyone think of a better idea?
b) if not, any idea on how to generate these masks (plane sections of polyhedra…) it is easy for simple solids, but might be tricky with dodecahedron and isocahedron…
You could render a set of nested platonic solids and texture them with
a 3D texture generated by jit.bfg. You may want to write a shader to
implement the density and other parameters as well as probably some
kind of parameterized indexing into the 3D texture.
