The help file for jit.qt.record is misleading. The "codec info" subpatcher has a static list of supported codecs, but this is not accurate for all installs of QT, especially if one has Final Cut Pro installed.
The jit.vcr help file seems more accurate, as it has a umenu that can be populated via the "getcodeclist" message which shows all of the available codecs on the user’s system. jit.qt.record responds to this message as well – I’d recommend moving away from the static list to this approach in both help files. It’s just confusing otherwise.
One odd note – the "jpeg" codec is not listed via getcodeclist on my machine, although it most definitely works. I believe it’s listed as "photojpeg".
