I was playing with LCD making a simple little drawing tool. Very basic. I found a few frustrations.

- Sending a brgb message does not update the LCD background colour until after I select clear. Is this correct. Do I have to wipe what I have drawn in order to change the background colour?

- Drawing on the LCD with a tablet pen is sluggish. I get octagons rather than circles when I try to draw a smooth circle. Writing text is clumsy as it does not update fast enough. Is there a way to update the LCD window quicker or have it so that it reacts more smoothly to pen input.

brgb is always only an attribute to the next drawing message, be it rect or clear,

and you can only change something in the background by drawing it on top.

so after every "brgb 0 0 0, clear" you will have to redraw everything what you got before.

In relation to LCD drawing/writing. I set the scheduler for low priority short term accuracy instead of long term high priority stability in the hope of improving GUI refresh rates and mouse accuracy over metros and MIDI - it did not seems to work. Max's interface, meaning the file drop down menus and such did seem snappier but drawing/writing on the LCD still seemed slugish.

I tried the drawing in the LCD on my studio PC with is a lot faster and runs on XP (better) instead of Vista and the response was much smoother. You still get octagons instead of circles but it does register every draw and writing is possible unlike in the vid above. So I think my Vista laptop is crap but also the refresh rate of the LCD could be better.
