Been away from Max for a while and back to start a new project -

I was wondering, as a basic start point, whether it is possible to load files using Max for Live,

i.e, navigate to a .als file using M4L, and then use a command to drop it into a set clip box?

No, at the time its not possible to load and save files. Basically the liveset which is loaded in Live is the main scope in which you can work. Although there is some access to the application (live_app) this only allows for information retrieval (version numbers, etc).

Thats what I suspected unfortunately - its a shame, as I am not looking to load a new live set, just to use the browser to load individual clips into a set, doesnt seem to be any support for this though.....

Has this been updated in any way to allow this? I ask this because many controller (including the push) have a way to show the browser info, and load files from the controller.

I do a hack with mxi autobot where it simulates pressing command-f to get to the search bar, then typing the file's name, then pressing down and enter.

It's a hack, but it works pretty well
