- a js object with some code that, when triggered by a button, sends a [start time, end time] pair of numbers in milliseconds to a [prepend start] object to a [play~] object set to the aforementioned buffer~

When I open the device in Max from Live and preview it, I can get it working fine - when I save and close the window, it doesn't work in Live.

I *can* make a button that will simply bang the [play~] object and play the buffer~ - no problem there.

I *can* hook up a button to the output of the [js] object and see that data is coming out of it in Live.

I *can* make a message in Max with a [start time, end time] pair in milliseconds, put it in the presentation mode for the device, click it, and get playback from the buffer~.

Given all the things I *can* do, I'm not sure why I *can't* get my triggered [js] number-pair to play nice with [play~].

Is this a thing? Is there a trick I'm missing?

Using: Live 9.2.2 | Max 7.0.6 | OSX 10.10.5

I was using the [adstatus] object to get the sampling rate and feed it to my [js] object, so that it could convert from raw samples to milliseconds.

The [adstatus] object doesn't work when it's inside a M4L device, it seems, so my [start time, end time] indeces were all in samples instead of ms, which meant they were trying to index way beyond where any sound was in the buffer.
