making gl 3d objects transparent
im quite new to Max so please bear with me. I’m trying to create a patch to use for an installation. It involves multiple 3d shapes, the main being a sphere which is constant and not transparent in the center, behind which I plan to have multiple planes(prepend shape) which will be "textured" with live camera feeds.
I want to make the planes transparent so as to create a montage of layered planes. This is where my problem lies. I cannot seem to get the right settings to allow this. I have created different layers using the @layer function. I can produce a transparency that allows background colour to come through but i can not get my 3d planes to merge in anyway at all.
Im using pak erase_color with my jit.gl.render + blend_enable.
With my jit.gl.gridshape, pak color including alpha, pak blend_mode 6 7, blend_enable $1
Is it actually possible to have gl objects that can be transparent with each other allowing a blended montage of muliple 3d layers?
I have gone through tutorial 33 of the jitter tutorials which helped alot but not enough.
Any help will be much appreciated.
