I want to feed bin data into ifft~ object directly. For example, if there are 512 points in the ifft~, to produce a signal with frequency of 861.32 HZ would mean to send ~ifft a list of numbers of 512, with all numbers being zero but the 10th value (since the fundamental frequency is 44100/512 = 86.13 HZ, so the 10th bin would exactly be 861.32 HZ).

What I don't know is the format of the real and imaginary data of ifft~, it seems that they are both between [-256, 256], but I don't know how to convert my representation to ifft's. Is it db, or some Max/MSP specific unit type? Or do I just map my representation [-1, 1] linearly to [-256, 256]?
