I'm just curious is there anyone who have implemented an audio installation utilizing huge number of audio output channels for spatial sound (for example, 200) in Max? What kind of problems arise with so many audio I/O operations? How to optimize things (poly~ with @parallel 1 for calculations?)? Any other information to know?

just as much an issue of control as well as optimization-- my starting point would be to look at existing tools such as hoa, icst ambisonics and miap (which might be the most efficient?).

there should be no specific issues with so many IO channels (other than the fact that max/msp will always need a bit more procrssing power for working with so many signals in an app compared to compiled apps such as logic or nuendo.)
