As the title states, I'm having trouble loading up my version of Max/MSP. Everytime I open the program it instantiates the interface and loads some externals before crashing to the desktop. I've installed the latest versions of max and jitter, and I'm running them on a windows pc. Please help, as I really do enjoy having max working.

Are Quicktime and Java installed? I'm pretty sure lack of Quicktime will make Jitter crash. I don't remember what happens if Java isn't installed.

Yep, both quicktime and java are working fine. Max was working until I installed a new version of norton virus scan/firewall. This also made it impossible for me to system restore to any previous dates for some reason outside of my knowledge.

Maybe an audio or mididriver is not loading correctly.

Have you tried uninstalling the Norton thing?

I think this one is probably best dealt with in support.
