Cool, is it indifferent if I buy Serato or Traktor timecode vinyl?

Im planning to use 3 1210`s with an allen heath xone92, im not sure what kind of audio interface / digital converters to use for this yet.

Is there any thing else I should should take into consideration?

only can say i've used ms pinky and it's great.

can't imagine this pd external being better than something that was designed specifically for max, but maybe someone else has experience with it.

please note too, you will have to build the pd external from the source code to create a max compatible external.

my (limited) understanding of the matter is, that ms pinky uses a 

different coding approach than say the serato/traktor line.

so, using serato vinyl together with ms pinky external or vice versa

but he used flext to build it, so it was relatively easy to make a 

i haven't done any real testing yet, since i dont have any of these 

vinyls, just a short recording of a serato timecode, to see whether

i've done that.

mac version for pd and for maxmsp.
i haven't done any real testing yet, since i dont have any of these

it runs at all.

I've done work with Ms.Pinky and it works great. You can play Serato time-code into Ms.Pinky MPTCFS~ object but you get randomized results, Ms.Pinky listens to records and acts accordingly. Perhaps some people might like the random results of using Serato records, or any other tone for that matter, with Ms.Pinky. Also playing Ms.Pinky records into Serato makes audio files in Serato play in reverse...

You may already have seen this but if not it's worth a read for anyone playing with time-code.

Im on Windows, but im not yet a Max expert.

If your talking about the Max/PD object that is free and *nix only, yes you are going to need some programming chops to port it to Windows.

Also it is not a patch but a single object which interprets the timecode on the vinyl into data useful in Max/PD. What exact form that takes, I couldn't tell you.

So even if you do port this object to Windows you are going to have to program everything you want your patch to do around this object. So depending on what that is you may or may not need serious skills, but you *will* have to implement everything you want the patch to do yourself, so it may be a pretty involved project (whereas you can do the same with Ms Pinky but you can also use/hack their prebuilt patches). Sounds to me like you might be better off with Ms Pinky.

That said we have no idea what you want to do since you've never really stated your goal except to get timecode into Max...

First of all, I want to be able to beatmix like Stanton/Traktor, but as Imagination (and programming skills) is the only limitation in Max, I guess I will quicly come up with ideas that is not possible in the other standard dj packages.

I guess I want to do stuff like routing the dj mixer output through Max and use envelope followers and timers to detect beat cutting and do different kind of processing when it recognizes different kind of 

beat cut patterns, and how fast i cut, like 16th and 32th cuts - when exceeding 8 32th cuts in a row - do some kind of comb filtering,

also maybe detect filtering from my dj mixer, so when i highpass, something is enabled in max etc,

also I think a lot of interesting stuff can be done when max detects abrupt pitch changes like backspins and stuff like this.

hello, i have been trying to download komika's time tunnel external but can't access their web page, keep getting this sign in box come up with the note 'To view this page, you must log in to area “Test” on komika.org:80.' can anyone explain this?

I know from experience working on a vinyl based product that they are pretty similar. I forget whether it's closer to serato (which I think is based on a 1k tone) and traktor (which I believe to be a 2k tone to allow for better response at slow motion).
