Ok I have been struggling with this problem in max:

I have a text file that has a lot of white space in it between words. Here is an example "1. Here is some text and now some white space and more white space ."

I want to be able to output that kind of text EXACTLY as is WITH the white spaces. I would like to export this text, LINE BY LINE, to a comment box, or anything that can be displayed on screen. It must go line by line and it has to come from a text object, not a textedit object.

I have used Tosymbol and it doesn't work. It only puts the text in quotes and strips out the white space.

I can do it with textedit, but my program can't use textedit because I need to be able to dynamically read a textfile, and textedit can't do that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am looking into jit.textfile, but please help!
