i just think i had a good idea and since those dont happen very often for me, i thought id share it before it floats away into the ether

how about a device for Push that toggles a parameter on/off when you touch one of the knobs? specifically, the power switch on a delay? i was just imagining the performance potential for something like this. any takers? i dont how to use M4L . . .

I was actually thinking of something similar awhile back. I wanted knobs to snap back to a certain value on release. I could easily wrap both functions in the same device. You could define the behavior for each of the eight encoders.

The other thing to think about is how you want the encoders mapped. Do you want to explicitly define what they are mapped to? Or do you want this behavior to exist on top of how the Push maps to parameters (harder to do).

I think it would be easier, as just a proof of concept, to explicitly map the encoders, and then have another button toggle between this new behavior, and the default behavior.
