My goal is to have a dual-boot system on my computer!

first is the Windows OS, to build my patches and work with audio editors, and... when the work is done, reboot the system to linux, to present my work!

Can i/you "make" a minimum linux instalation to run only MAX?

and... if i buy Mas/MSP 5 for windows or OSx, do you offer me the linux version of Max/MSP? (Windows and OSx are too "heavy", and i don't need them to run a patch.. a giant one!)

This would seem to be possible if you use the iLock option for your 

registration license. Install whichever versions you need on whatever 

partitions you have, and the iLock is read either way. Can anyone 

confirm that this currently works for Mac & Windoze MaxMSP 4.X versions?

There is no port of MaxMSP for Linux and there will not be one for Max 5.

Don't count on Max 5 for Linux, but at least the architecture had been 

But it might already work, because as far as I know, there are pluggos 

running on a Museresearch receptor, which is running Linux under the 

hood... I believe they simply use wine to do it.

Just try if MaxPlay will run under wine, and let us know...

Don't count on Max 5 for Linux, but at least the architecture had been 
enhanced, so that it would be possible.

But it might already work, because as far as I know, there are pluggos 
running on a Museresearch receptor, which is running Linux under the 
hood... I believe they simply use wine to do it.

there is still a bit a difference between a VST plug-in 

and a programming enviroment in application form ... and

even if debian for 86k really needs 1% CPU less than XP

i would still choose Mac OSX to perform.


    Please if you do enter the Linux domain, make it RealTime Linux.

    Because i would like to see which subpatch takes too much processor 

    As a whole i would like to get more insight in threads and priorities

As a feature request :
	Please if you do enter the Linux domain, make it RealTime Linux.

	Because i would like to see which subpatch takes too much processor

And a small pc and mac application that once clicked twice, hibernates your OS (copy your ram state for a file) and do a fast reboot to "MAXosLINUX", like copy to ram the image file of "started MAXosLINUX" and run it!!!

Once on exit option, and after you click "yes, i'm sure", it returns to the "hibernated point"
