I may have changed a path in my file preferences. Now I no longer have "file prefrences" in the options menu. Also get info has stopped working. Do I need to re-install or just get rid of my Max/Msp prefs.

I may have changed a path in my file preferences. Now I no longer have "file prefrences" in the options menu. Also get info has stopped working. Do I need to re-install or just get rid of my Max/Msp prefs.

This can happen when you have a '/' in the file path,

as in having everything in a folder called 'Max/MSP' -

this has caught a few of us out over the years, and

This can happen when you have a '/' in the file path,
as in having everything in a folder called 'Max/MSP' -
this has caught a few of us out over the years, and
may even be in the FAQ...

what I had to do was open the file prefrences.pat and put back in "patches" re-launch and all is well. I really should have searched the list first instead of panicking :-)

Exactly, so getting rid of the preferences should solve the problem.
