Just two things: Check scheduler in audio interupt, elswise your metros, 

lines etc are out of time and not locked to audio time.

And avoid direct disc access with sfplay~ sfrecord~ and alike. They will 

be much, much slower than realtime. Record everything into big buffers 

and write those to disk... Speeds up a lot...

I think there isn't much more to consider. Your patch will either be 

faster than before, or it will be able to do stuff it couldn't do becaus
