I'm a Max noob, and I'm looking for some help with a couple performance devices I'm building.

One device would be something to allow me to use 1 MIDI footswitch to control multiple Loopers. I'm wondering if there is a way to map the footswitch so that it only controlled the Looper on the track that was currently selected. I have a 3-button MIDI footswitch and I was hoping to map 1 button to control the Loopers, and use the other two buttons to move back and forth between the tracks.

The catch is that I want independent control of the Loopers if possible- I know I can just map the footswitch to ALL my Loopers and just be selective about when I send audio to each one, but I want the Loopers to be independent so that the lengths will differ, I do a lot of work that involves gradual phasing and being able to decouple the Loopers from each other is great, as it is I loop, then drag the audio to a new track and then adjust the length using the clip controls. In the studio this is fine but when I play live it ='s not an ideal workflow...

I've tried mapping the multi-function button to a Macro knob and trying to use the "blue hand" control to do this but the multi-function button does not work properly when used like this. Is there a way to do this?

The second device seems very easy, and I've basically built it already, but it's super clunky and I'm sure there's a much, much easier and more elegant way to do it, so I'd welcome any input.

I'd like a Toggle button that sends one message when it's turned on, then a separate message when it's turned off. This way I can control 2 different parameters with one button- for instance, I use the Buffer Shuffler a lot, so I would map the "On" state to the "Dice" parameter on the Buffer Shuffler, but I want the state to be reset when I disengage the button, so I'd want to map the "Off" state to the "reset" button, so as soon as I disengage the toggle, it resets the device to the default.

I'm having a little trouble with the mapping portion of this device but I think I just need to study up on the live.remote~ object. Is there something else I should be looking at? For the sake of convenience I'd like the ability to map the 2 states to whatever I want rather than hardwire them directly to different devices- I've been able to use the LOM (and some judicious cutting and pasting !) to populate drop-down mens with track/devices/parameters but I'm having trouble getting my mapping to actually bind to the selected parameters.
