Yeah, the color command to number boxes seems flaky. Sometimes it'll change OK, then change back upon re-opening. Is the color command (like for messages) from early early versions?

The brgb and frgb work much better anyways, and seem to be stable. Plus a transparent background on numbers is cool, it can remove some of that "blockiness" of Max interfaces. Use a transparent background on a custom-colored panel for a background maybe, that looks pretty nice (and provides a border). Of course, the little selection triangle is gone, but ah well.
