Hey everyone, I'm very new to all of this, but thought I'd hit up all the best Max 4 Live minds in hope that we can achieve something awesome!

I'm trying to see it's possible to make a patch that records audio straight into drum rack.

I have designed it and even put instructions on how it should work right here:

I was told I might have to use some audio buffers, but as I said, I'm very new to this and would loooove all the help I can get :D

I don't think that's possible. You can't change the drum rack buffers from within M4L. So you can't change them in real-time.

If I were you I would build the whole thing in M4L, make your own Drum Rack plugin. My advise would be to simplify that plugin a bit though.
