"Triadic Memories" for solo piano, presents the listener an opportunity
to enter Morton Feldman’s musical universe: a place of quiet, space,
repetition, evolution, and expanded time-sense.
Feldman described parallels between his music and the rough, irregular
patterns of certain antique Turkish carpets. For this performance,
video artist Kurt Ralske has created an experimental video derived from
images of these carpets. The video makes clear this connection between
sound and image, and provides an entry point to total immersion in Feldman’s
world of sound and silence.

Kurt Ralske is a video artist and programmer, and teaches in the MFA
Computer Arts program at the School of Visual Arts. He recently created the
video installation permanently on view in the lobby of the Museum of
