What difference does the "@parallel 1" attribute make to poly~ objects within a poly~ object that already has "@parallel 1" enabled?

This is relative to Max 5 if any C74 guys see it.

Also, is it possible to set different downsampling rates for sub polys~ ?

I remember reading people on the forum discussing that you only need to put it on in the parent poly~, and that reiterating @parallel 1 on poly~ subpatches would be not point, if troublesome for some reasons.
