Particle Simulation

Is there any way of doing particle simulation with max5 and jitter 1.7?

Cheers, John

you can check out the particle objects: [jit.p.shiva], [jit.p.vishnu],
[jit.p.bounds]. an alternative way of doing particle systems can be
found in jitter tutorial 46 (manipulating matrix data using
javascript).

best.

yes, but what did you find out so far?

Checkout jitter objects jit.p.shiva and vishnu, and Andrew Benson’s
recipes on Cycling74 site.

I’m just beginning to check out the help files for jit.p.vishnu/shiva now. I haven’t found out too much about them yet. Cheers for the jitter recipes tip.
The patch I’m trying to build uses your (Nesa’s) eyes, nose, lips and chin tracking patch. It will "superimpose" aminations such as particle simulations onto a user’s face. These different animations will be accompanied by sound design. The idea is quite like a Bjork video, that I can’t think of the name of at the moment. I haven’t been able to find many other projects like this one, although I’m sure that there are plenty of similar ones out there. If anyone knows of anything like this or even has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them.

Cheers folks,
John

Andrew posted a verlet particle patch recently that might be of service:

see recipe 41.

Cheers Wes. That is really interesting. I’ll have to encorporate it somehow

Hi Everyone, I have been researching creating my own particle engine and have been trying to get hold of Andrew B’s Verlet patch but the old links are gone – anyone have it/ more up to date examples?
