I wrote a patch in M4L that receives a signal from an external controller (not Midi) and creates a CC using Ctlout. I can see the CC is I use a M4L midi monitor but the CC doesn't seem to be received by anything that's not an M4l device. Basically, I'm trying to map the CC's generated by my patch to various parameters on an Ableton Synth.

Any idea on how to send the generated CC's to Live in general, and maybe to even send them OUT of live? (Using a Mac)

MIDI mapping in Live requires external MIDI input.

But instead of creating CC's you could simply use the Live API to control device parameters.

Or you have to use the IAC bus on a mac or MidiYoke on a PC to fool ableton and make it think this comes from the outside world...

You can also use osc via [udpsend] and [udpreceive]. It's super fast and lets you route notes and cc's from and to whatever pleases you. If you send osc out of Live, you can use Osculator (a commercial but not so expensive osx application) to translate osc back to midi. Good luck!
