Is it possible to have patty communicate between different devices in the same LIVE set? This could make it possible to make an overview window with parameters from different devices or effects over the whole set and work on them from within that window.

it is possible, check out [pattrmarker]. But you might run into unwanted behaviour if you run multiple insrances of the same device

And indeed, multiple instances will lead to problems. But within this set that won't be the problem.

what i do if i have to communicate between different devices and instances is:

a) prefix the pattrmarker/send/receive... names with three dashes --- (m4l unique ID)

b) add via a global send/receive the possibilty to query the devices for their ID (what the three dashed will be substituted with) and also via LiveAPI for their track.

c) populate a umenu to be able to select the "partner-device"
