I recently made an scripting external that creates a lot of comment objects inside a new patcher. For each comment I set color of the background and color, size, name and justification of the text/font and add these to presentation mode. For more than 10 objects this takes over several seconds.

Instead of the comment object I now use my own label external, that is based on the uitextfield example project of the SDK. The creation of this external is much more faster than the comment object but gives me the same options and looks.

My question on this is: Why is the comment object so slow compared to the uitextfield? Doesn't it use the same JGraphics API as all the example UI projects?
