I do hope you understand that max 5 is a prerequisite for getting much use from the thread.

Though I used such sort of tricks also in Max 4, you just have to hide anything you don't want to see. To Roman: I guess you know these anyway or better.

But I can share a presentation mode trick which isn't possible in Max 4, as it uses transparent colors:
