pseudo html tags to indicate it was a bit off-topic.

the tags disappeared in the forum post (fortunately they’re still in
the list), so the meaning of my message is changed. I suppose the
reason is that a parser removes everything it doesn’t understand,
although human readers are still more clever than it is.

Perhaps try using [ot] and [/ot] or something like that.
It’s a fairly common thing for forums to remove all but standard html tags.
In fact a majority only let you use a select bunch like bold, italic,
underline, and a few paragraphs. Perhaps putting them inside a pre tag may
I could indeed use [ot] rather than , or whatever, but for me the
point is that, as a list user, I won’t normally check on the forum what
happens (I don’t really like forums).
I guess this is the price to pay to get the best (?) of both worlds…
