is there any way to save a text file or the like of the contents of the max window to be reviewed later on? a lot of times testing patches in controlled scenarios can only go so far and they need real world experience to temper them. That is to say I need to be able to play music freely without worrying about what's going on in my devices / patches. But if a bug appears it would be nice to have a log that I can go back to after the fact and troubleshoot it. So is there any way to do this with the printed out data of the max window? If there isn't there should be!

then paste in your favorite text editor and save. Even that can be done in Max: File -> New Text ; paste; save

Anyway, you can do:
- select the Max window
- Edit menu -> Select All
- Edit menu -> Copy

then paste in your favorite text editor and save. Even that can be done in Max: File -> New Text ; paste; save


focus on the Max Window (or Max Console now in Max7) and go to File/Save (CMD+S or CTRL+S, depending on your OS)

ok so I now realize that the reason I hadn't known about those very easy methods is that they don't exist in the Max for Live window. And that is where I do all of my work. I suppose I will have to go post in those forums to inquire further.
