scaling problem

December 5, 2011 | 12:52 pm

Hi all,

I am not a huge math genious, but I really like the sound of the below guitar amp model, and I would like to somehow match the frequency of the guitar amp model with the frequency of the standard piano. How do I do this?

Hi Kaspar
the maths is surprisingly straightfoward:

– convert midi to frequency with [mtof]
– convert frequency to milliseconds by 1000./f or [!/ 1000.]

ps, I took also SEVERAL liberties with your patch to ‘improve’ it; just some ideas for string modelling, which are detailed in my video tutorial series and blog ("fCast") here:

… would you mind sharing the wonderful patch that is on the video?

Sure; there’s an old version here:

If you would like me to email you the new and improved version as a Max patch, then please subscribe to my channel and follow the above blog too – when I see you pop up on my fCast blog I’ll mail you the latest patch.

Best regards
