Please can someone help, I a, trying to build a max for live device which max for live owners can open if they don't own the full max application. It contains a poly~ object which is a .maxpat file, and according toi docs that means people who do not own the full max application cannot open it.

you need to discover what 'freeze' is (the snowflake icon in your .amxd toolbar).

then you need to discover how the .amxd format looks after all of this for you easily via your dependencies (the tree icon in your .amxd toolbar).

thank you, i thought freeze referred to something else. i tried freeze, and got alot of 'unable to add' messages for subpatches, but it seemed to work like it was meant to. However then the keyboard in live was corrupted, live crashed, and on reload, the patch no longer loads external .json files which had got working properly. have to kill processes and reboot. is this normal during development or have i done something else wrong?

Well, I thought about it, and for the amount of time it would take to figure out why subpatches dont get frozen, it seemed worthwhile just to buy a Mac and build something for Soundflower instead. But if anyone does have an idea, it may be worthwhile solving the problem in the long term.

There seems to be some confusion. In fact, M4L users can open M4L devices and while in the editor can also open/edit any other .maxpat file (located in the Max search path). They don't need full Max for this.

Earnest, I'm having the same trouble now--I edited a version of Granulator II (which has a poly~ and multiple js dependencies) and I can't get it to properly load now.
