This might not be a problem with Soundflower itself, but actually a problem with the programs AU Lab and Ableton, however, I thought posting here might help me find a solution/workaround.

Route the system audio on my mac through an eq so I can shape the sound of anything coming out of the mac in whatever way I like.

When I route the audio through AU Lab, there's light audible noise that I can't get rid of. Apart from the noise, this would be a good solution.

Ableton works perfectly and does exactly what I want it to, except something will go wrong at any given time and the audio will fizzle into a distorted signal that's not pleasant to listen to. Going into Ableton and changing the input device, then changing it back to Soundflower restores the audio quality but it's quite a hassle to keep doing this every time it occurs. I haven't been able to figure out what triggers the fizzling.

Any suggestions? If there's a better, free way to eq the system audio, please let me know!
