Is there any difference in performance stability using a standalone versus the open patches in Max ?

Since I am the performer I feel fine just working with the patches in the open program.

But is it more safe crashwise to make a standalone ?

I *think* I did a test at one point and noticed that using runtime vs. full Max I saved a very small amount of CPU. This was an MSP only patch, so not sure how helpful that is.
