I'm in the middle of refactoring my main/big max patch to look/work well both in Max6 and Max7 and I'm kind of struggling with how to handle umenu. The border thing/mess of textbutton/flonum jammed me right up, but I've moved to live.text and live.button and that seems to look/work fine in both.

umenu, however, seems to not want to have any consistency between the two Maxes. For example, this is how I want it to look in Max7:

Opening the same in Max6 gives a white/empty (looking) umenu.

Has anyone worked out a way to get some parity between 6/7 for umenu in terms of looks?
