I'd like to encapsulate a live.dial in a bpatcher so I can make the dial and it's logic once and use it multiple places as rows of knobs.

It doesn't seem like you can prevent the name of the live.dial from appearing above it or get the default word "live.dial" to be hidden.

Is it possible to send into the bpatcher through its inlet or arguments, the name of each instance of the live.dial? If so, how?

Is it true that it is not a good practice to send in the "Scripting Name", "Long Name", and "Short Name" of a live.dial to have it be assigned dynamically? I read another post in the forum that said you can get into trouble that way.

If it is a bad practice, how do you change the name of each instance of a live.dial in a bpatcher? I want each dial to have the correct label above it.

Also, while we're on the topic, how do you assign a sequential automapping index to each instance of the live.dial in each instantiated bpatcher?

If anyone is looking for the answer to this question, I think it could be the "showname" attribute of live.dial, at least to clear the name. I'm gonna try labeling each dial outside the bpatcher.

Still don't know anything about assigning "Scripting Name", "Long Name", and "Short Name" and "automapping index" to a live.dial for each instance of a bpatcher.

It turns out I do need to pass "short Name" and "automapping index" in dynamically because the dial won't appear on controller screens without these attributes.
