Apologies if I am way off, but I'm interested in this as a viable solution to my current research arrangement woes where other software won't cut it.

Is there any way that Max 7 can be used to arrange content for dynamic filtering and viewing from tags applied to content in a central text document? i.e. I have my text with tagged areas linking to sound, stills, video as a dynamic mood board, and can sort/search/travel through this material accordingly.

I know this is an untypical use for the software but I'm also aware of its great flexibility. I can't seem to find much online that deal in working with text documents, but perhaps a more experienced user has experience of this? It would be a huge help.

I wouldn't say it is impossible, but you would mainly ending up using "external" technologies that are integrated in Max - like databases, parsing textfiles in JavsScript/Java etc. Without knowing anything further that sounds to me like a classical usecase of web-technologies...

You might be better off searching for another solution.

Why Max?


Well, other solutions thus far haven't really been scalable and I'm at a point where the size of projects is making that very important. What on the surface are more conventional solutions fall flat when it comes to handling video material in particular, so I thought about approaching the problem from the angle of finding the multimedia handler first, and seeing if the rest could follow.
