When I play a video file in reverse using the viddll engine and change to a new file, still playing in reverse, using the «read»-message, the file stops. If I play the file forward first and then backwards using a trigger-object, it kind of works. I get the same result on both Windows and macOS. If I use the hap engine on macOS, this is not a problem.

The idea is to switch between different files while playing in reverse.

Sorry if this subject has been asked before, but I did not find it anywhere, and my Jitter skills are pretty basic.

if this doesn't work out for you (or if the movie is too large to load into RAM), manually controlling playback with a frame counter is probably your best option:

otherwise, i'd highly recommend reexporting your movies in reverse. you can use the patch above with a jit.record object to patch something that automates this from Max.
