Oh, don’t give Gary too much duff. He’s only trying to work around a
rather obnoxious bug, which btw, works like this:

* Pasting the previously-mentioned JS code into an email and posting it
to the list will result in it getting to the list just fine.

* Pasting it into a forum post (btw, the [code] tags, like all other
FUDForum tags, are disabled) will result in it getting to the forum and
list just fine.

* Attaching it to a forum post will result in it getting posted to the
forum and the list just fine.

* Pasting it into an email and posting it to the list will not get it
into the forum, because the same mechanism that has issues with
attachments posted from the list has issues with JS in the body of the
message posting it into the list. I do not believe they’re related to
HTML parsing either, although I could be wrong.

If you have a snippet of code, or an attachment, it is always best to
post these from the forum. Even posting JS as an attachment in mailers
will not always truly attach them, as some mailers will automatically
append text documents in the body of the email. The forum does not seem
to do this, though.

cheers

I know! I definitely appreciate Gary’s contributions to the forum, and the minor error most likely wasn’t his fault…. but I couldn’t resist.
