To avoid the patch window covering the inspector window, I 'd like to open the inspector as a float window, I didn't find the way to do this.

I recall thats how it worked in Max before version 5?

inspectors were patches containing "thisobject" 

which served to communicate with selected instance of

Should automatically set the float flag as soon as the inspector window is opened.
