I have a question for controlling the XFade in jitter with a ping sensor (hc-sr04).

The concept of the project ("Proxy") is that two disparately-placed large scale water-vapor screens will function as a mirrors as a person approaches, and crossfade into a live feed of the other station if occupied by another person. This is an updated version of a piece that was done on a smaller scale using velostat readers: 

Amalgamated components from other patches are currently functioning, but I need to figure out how the arduino/hc-sr04 can communicate with the XFadr object. The Arduino patch is sending out serial data of depth-measurements, but need to give output that Xfadr understands (values between 0.00 and 1.00). I'm not sure how to do this, or if some sort of conversion is the only thing needed to make this work. Advice is appreciated! I also access to a 3-pin ping sensor if this would be helpful.
