I'd like to send audio from my shiny new macbook to my old powerbook thru an ethernet cable. Has anyone actually done anything like that?
Some folks suggested it could be done via osc, but I haven't been able to do it neither with the new udp objects in Max nor the cmnat OpenSoundControl object. Whether otudp will help or not I don't know, It's not yet UB. Sending any other kinds of messages works via udpsend/reveive, but not signals it seems (receive just reports that it is receiving signal).
In case anyone actually have made this work, would that person please give me a detailed description of how to do it? I'm an idiot on networks, and I don't find the documentation for udpsend/receive and OpenSoundControl very helpful for what I'm trying to do.
I'm thankful for any suggestions, also for alternative solutions (although preferably not involving Jitter which I don't own and can't afford at the moment). It doesn't need to involve Max, I can use Soundflower to distribute the sound.
