I am trying to make a sort of arpeggiator. I will have a specific pitch set, lets say a F dorian scale, and no matter what note I play on my midi controller it will reference that as the lowest note. Then it will go up the scale from there ( or do some kind of pattern that I determine later).

So if I play an F it will go up the F dorian scale from F, If I play a C it will go up the F dorian scale from C, etc. Does that make sense? I will add other scales later so eventually I can have several scales to choose from. For now I put one scale in a coll and have a counter selecting notes up and down the scale.

My issues is: How to translate the notes I play on my midi controller into some thing the counter can use, and to set the incoming notes as the minimum number on the counter.

Maybe there is a way easier method to do this and I am going about it the wrong way. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I've done something like this before but have been wanting to make a new version so I put this together..

You can set the amount of notes to arpeggiate through before it loops back to the beginning again, right now it just steps up but you can modify it to arpeggiate up in 3rds or whatever..

This is pretty awesome. i was just playing with it, testing it out. Seems to work great.
