Urgent : lib LXP15

    Jun 16 2006 | 10:57 pm
    hello
I'm working on NoaNoa composed by Kaija Saariaho in 1998 at Ircam... This is a piece for flute, samples and transformations (Lexicon LXP15, PCM80 and Yamaha SPX1000).
It uses an unknowed (for me...) objet wich is called [lib LXP15]. And the patch wasn't revised since March 1998...
So does anybody know this object and what it does ? I performed this piece next thuesday, so it is very urgent...
    thanks for your help !

A control patch for the Lexicon LXP-15. Whereabouts unknown (both hardware and object)!

      Thanks Darwin
But I am quite disappointed because if it is just a patcher, it seems to have been forgetten in the package...
So I am going on my investigations...

It's probably a combination of two things: the long-dead "lib" object for Max 2/3 (a generic script-based MIDI librarian) and a lib script file for the LXP-15.
"lib" is something which could be rather nicely replaced by an MXJ package. (It's on my to-do list, having been in the charts for 40 weeks at number 68.)

I know that an 100% MaxMSP version of this piece exists now; it was done recently by the Berkeley Symphony, with technical support from CNMAT. You should contact IRCAM and Ms. Saariaho before you go too far into reviving a 1998 version.

      Thanks everybody !
Just after having resuscitated the 98's patch and thanks to Le Quan Ninh, I have had the answer of these questions.
      1st, you're right Nick (but now it's sure) :
      >It's probably a combination of two things: the long-dead "lib" >object >for Max 2/3 (a generic script-based MIDI librarian) and a lib >script >file for the LXP-15.
2d, sorry ddg, I already have the Ninh's LXP15 control patch but this is not exactly what I need
3rd, you're right mz, and I received the 100% Max patch directly from Jean-Baptiste Barriere.
And I am a happy man
So thanks a lot everybody !

Right, it seems there's a MSP only version. I don't think Kaija will have the patch so contact ircam's production directly.
