What's the practical difference between Library and Packages for Max 7?
I still don't fully understand the practical difference between Library (in Documents) and Packages (in Documents) after reading how do i add externals in max 7 ?.
I guess the organising rule of Packages which existed for Max 6, doesn't exist anymore for Max 7, as both folders seem to be ordinary user folders residing in Documents.
Could anyone kindly tell me the practical difference? For me, the only difference seems to be whether it is included in Max's search path by default or not.

I'm a bit surprised that Max 7's 'Packages' folder still retains that organising rule, as it looks like an ordinary folder compared to 'packages' of Max 6.1 which resided in Application Folder. Also they didn't put 'about packages.txt' to Max 7.

could probably be linked to from a more general page… like from within the ‘SeeAlso’ section of the doc page labelled ‘Sharing Max Patchers’…. otherwise, it seems i only get to it by directly searching the word ‘packages’.
