These digital or analog signals carrying information are transcoded and transported by electromagnetic waves traveling in our world meshed by antenna systems, networks splitters, filters and other as invisible as necessary equipment in our lives often reduced to propagation of messages.
signal.interrupt is a generative sound and visual installation that visits the various forms of modulation and signal creation itself from pseudo-random generators that displays programmed shapes and generates continuously sound and visuals, exploring the modulation frequency of amplitude, tone generation by random wave table, among other processes.
signal.interrupt is based on an algorithm that generates digital bits 0 or 1, which are stored in real-time in temporary memory and read as if they were full-fledged sound signals. The process of generating, storing and playback is not made constant and identical speed and thus causes an infinity of possible leaving room for a set of possible disturbances.
signal.interrupt also analyzes in real-time the audio signals produced and thus create visual forms with a strong minimalistic aesthetic parti-pris. From the smoothed waveform to the most disturbed one, signal.interrupt provides an immersion in the core of signal generation, signal processing processing, keeping a place for triggered random, and sometimes deliberately uncontrolled that can also lead to a total disruption.
signal.interrupt therefore attempts to show through different moments and phases that if we are able to recognize patterns, repetitions in these signals, it is just because they are constantly disturbed and interrupted; indeed, the sine qua non condition for creating an information from a medium being the fact that we can change the medium parameters itself.
