    If I own Live 10 Suite and I want to use the latest version of Max 8, what should I do?

    In a future version of Live 10 Suite, this will not be required. Currently, you must download and install Max 8, then go through these steps to set it as the Max for Live Editor within Live 10.

    1. Upgrade to Live 10.0.4, if you haven’t done so already
    2. Download and install Max 8
    3. Open Live, go to Live > Preferences > File Folder, and select the standalone version of Max 8 by clicking the Browse button
    The suggestions in the FAQ do not fix the problem. What should I do next?

    How do I order Max as a gift?

    To purchase a Max license as a gift, place your order anonymously on our online shop. This means that you will not sign in or create a cycling74.com account.

    1. Start here: https://cycling74.com/shop
    2. Make sure you are not currently signed in. To do this, look at the upper right-hand side of the Shop page. If you see “Sign In” then proceed with your purchase. (If not, then click "Sign Out".)
    3. After placing an order on the online shop, you will receive several emails. There is a confirmation and receipt email, along with an activation email with the subject line “Activate your Max purchase”. Forward this “activation” email to the gift recipient. It allows them to authorize Max with a new or existing cycling74.com account.
    I'm in the EU and I see a charge for VAT. What is it?

    If you are purchasing from a country in the European Union, you will be subject to VAT which is a kind of tax on your purchase. Unfortunately, Cycling '74 cannot control this tax.

    If you are exempt from paying VAT, you can provide a valid VAT ID at the time of purchase. For those providing a valid ID, no tax will be collected, and the ID will be included on the invoice upon purchase completion. If you neglect or are unable to enter a VAT ID at the time of the purchase, email our order processing service (orders@fastspring.com) with the order reference / ID and the valid VAT ID.

    How do I cancel or change my subscription? How do I update the billing address on my subscription?

    In Max 8, there are two options:

    • Within the Max 8 application: Go to Help > User Account and Licenses. Sign in to your Cycling '74 account. Click the “+” sign next to the license you want to edit. Click on “View Account Info”. Navigate to the “Subscriptions” tab. On this page, you can manage (which includes cancelling) your subscription.
    • From "Your Receipt" email: Click on the "Manage Orders". To get access, the system will request you enter the email address where you received your receipt. Next, you will receive an email with a link to your account. Upon visiting that link, you can manage (which includes cancelling) your subscription.

    In Max 7, there are two options:

    • Within the Max 7 application: Go to Help > User Account and Licenses. Next, click on "Review/Cancel Subscription". You can either "Edit Subscription" or "Cancel Subscription". If you choose to edit, you can change the Payment Method or Billing Address.
    • From "Your Order" email: Click on the link below the subscription item you ordered. You can either "Edit Subscription" or "Cancel Subscription". If you choose to edit, you can change the Payment Method or Billing Address.
    Is the Max 8 upgrade available for purchase?

    Max 7 purchases after November 2, 2017 include a free upgrade to Max 8.
