Using the flonum object

The flonum object is an important part of building UI's. It is used to display, input, and output floating-point numbers in a number box.

flonum Tutorials

The flonum object is introduced in Max Basic Tutorial 3: Numbers and Lists.

flonum Tips and Workarounds

In addition to the attributes that are shown in the help patch, flonum has a number of attributes that can be used to change the way it performs in a UI, from the number of decimals displayed to how it interacts with the mouse.

Clicking to the right of the decimal point allows you to control how finely you adjust the values, the further right, the finer the resolution.

You can press the "f" key anywhere in an unlocked patcher to create a flonum where the mouse is positioned.
